Meet Our Founder
Levi Salma is the visionary founder of Salma AgroTrade, a dynamic agribusiness leader whose journey began in Yama, a rural farming community in Northern Ghana where agriculture is a way of life. With nearly 95% of the local population engaged in farming, Levi’s early exposure to the sector came through helping his parents on their farm, instilling in him a deep understanding of farming practices and the challenges rural communities face.
Motivated by a passion for education and development, Levi’s parents ensured he pursued schooling, leading him through Walewale, Bolgatanga, and Tamale for his primary, junior high, and secondary education. These early experiences not only shaped his academic path but also laid the foundation for his career advancement.
Levi earned a diploma in Integrated Community Development at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Wa, Ghana, where he honed his passion for sustainable, community-centred development. His growing interest in agribusiness led him to further specialize in International Food Business at Aeres University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and Dalhousie University in Canada. This unique combination of community development and international food business gave Levi a well-rounded understanding of both local and global food systems.
Professionally, Levi has gathered a wealth of experience working in Ghana, the Netherlands, and Canada, developing deep expertise in community development, agribusiness value chains, sustainable agriculture, and international logistics. These capabilities have equipped him to bridge the gap between quality agricultural commodities and global markets.
Through Salma AgroTrade, Levi combines his heritage, education, and international experience to create a business rooted in impact, innovation, and inclusivity. His value proposition is built around building resilient food systems, empowering rural communities, and delivering high-quality, traceable agricultural commodities to the local and global market. Levi’s leadership reflects a rare blend of grassroots knowledge and global expertise, driving Salma AgroTrade’s mission to transform farming from a livelihood into a legacy of opportunity for generations to come.
